Gertie and Barrie Brown love their dog, Barney Brown. So much so that they have organized Barney Brown's Garden Tour to thank Creston's Pet Adoption and Welfare Society for introducing them to Barney.

Bear Circle sculpture donated to RDCK

The granite sculpture of a mother bear and her two cubs will be leaving its familiar spot in front of the Creston and District Community Complex, but it won't be going far.

Chief says local indigenous history should not be ignored

Speaking to a large crowd of students and teachers at Prince Charles Secondary School on Tuesday, Lower Kootenay Band Chief Jason Louie encouraged teachers to teach local First Nations history.

Plans proceed for new Discovery Centre

The demise of Creston Valley's much-loved Wildlife Centre appears to be leading to the construction of a new Discovery Centre in the immediate vicinity.
