Fundraiser planned to support Faulks family

With months of long-term care in the future for young Timmy Faulks, the Creston Hotel is holding a fundraiser to help defray the costs his parents will face in the near future.

“We just want to pitch and do our part,” organizer Cori Karountzos said last week. “This is one of those difficult family situations where the entire community needs to help in any way we can.”

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be held in the Creston Hotel banquet room on May 26.

The usually healthy Timmy Faulks hadn’t been feeling well in February, and on April 11th he was admitted to Cranbrook hospital, and soon after was flown to Vancouver’s Children’s Hospital. Several days later, it was determined he will need a heart transplant, and the Faulks family is now waiting anxiously for that day to come.

“It takes a village to raise a child, and we are all in this together,” Karountzos said.

All proceeds from the $10 spaghetti dinner and silent auction will go to the family. The event runs from 4-8 pm next Sunday.
