While Abbotsford’s popular ABC County Restaurant is transforming into a Ricky’s Country Restaurant, owners Allan and Cheryl Dawes say much is remaining the same.
“We kept country in our name because it really describes the essence of our restaurant, that is home-style cooking served by neighbours to neighbours in ample portions in a family-friendly environment,” said Allan.
The family-owned and operated establishment that has a three-decade history in Abbotsford.
Back in 1985, Terry and Blanche Dawes, along with brother Allan, became partners and purchased the restaurant. When Allan decided to move on, the couple continued as operators.
Over the past year, Terry and Blanche reluctantly decided it was time to retire. Allan returned and he and his wife Cheryl became the new owners on May 1, 2015, heralding the beginning of a new era for the restaurant.
