Airport activity takes flight at chamber breakfast

The Kelowna International Airport will be the focus of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce’s breakfast meeting Thursday.

The Okanagan Valley is a major international destination while many locals do business around the world.

Key to that success is the Kelowna International Airport, which will be the focus of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce’s breakfast meeting Thursday.

Sam Samaddar, YLW manager, will speak about the economic impact of the airport and what is planned for the future.

At the end of August, YLW passenger numbers reached 1,001,294 which is almost three per cent more than the same period in 2012.

Since January 2013, every month was record breaking.

Thursday’s event takes place at the Prestige Hotel, with registration at 7:15 a.m., breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and the guest speaker at 8 a.m.

The cost is $28, plus taxes, for chamber members, and $35, plus taxes, for non-members.

For more information or to register, call the chamber of commerce at 250-545-0771.
