Aldergrove Credit Union (ACU) raised over $20,000 and presented a cheque to BC Children’s Hospital during the live broadcast of the 29th annual Miracle Weekend hosted by Global BC June 4-5.
“Aldergrove Credit Union has been a longtime supporter of BC Children’s Hospital and each year we are motivated to help raise more money for this amazing cause. During this year’s campaign, I enjoyed watching the competitive spirit come alive both in our branches, and in the hearts of our staff and members,” said Val Mackey, Aldergrove Credit Union Vice President, Human Resources, and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation Chair of the Credit Union Committee.
ACU fundraising activities took place at all six branches and around the Fraser Valley, their tactics included a wildly successful pub night, the annual BC Children’s Hospital Slo-Pitch Tournament, jeans days, bake sales, book sales, plant sales and more. “You name it, they tried to sell it,” laughs Mackey.
“In addition to raising money, we’re noticing that the fundraising initiatives have left a positive footprint on our corporate culture. As internal teams work closely to plan and execute their own fundraising strategies, we’re seeing them build strong relationships with each other, experience greater fulfillment, and have some fun in the process.”
