BUSINESS TRACK: Annual golf tournament a success despite the rain

Downey Transmission team the only group to finish all 18 holes

Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never golfed in the rain or this year’s Chamber Golf Tournament. Serious and pleasure golfers alike braved monsoon-like conditions June 7 with an eye to network and have fun.

This year’s big winner and the only team to complete all 18 holes were the gang from Downey Transmission: Sean Downey, Stu Dunaway, Ryan McCreery and Rob Dahaiwal. Rob also won closest to the pin and Stu won the chipping contest.

The most challenged team of day went to the Canadian Tire Team of Frank Ehrhardt, Katherine Yanko, Christina Rodgers, and Vicki Gould. Interestingly, Frank won the putting contest and Katherine won the women’s closest to the pin.

A special thank you to Tyler Hoff and Pioneer Chrysler for sponsoring the Hole-in-One again this year. Unfortunately their offer of a one-year lease on a 2011 Jeep Wrangler complete with a year’s insurance provided by Meier Insurance Company was not won this year, though there were some close shots.

Thank you to all our sponsors who made it a terrific afternoon despite the rain:
