Cobs Bread will donate $1 from every higher fibre loaf and whole wheat loaf until Sept. 20 to Breakfast Club of Canada.
The club is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funding and services for school breakfast programs in communities across the country.
Last year’s campaign raised more than $42,000 for the club and this year’s goal is to raise more than $75,000. Every $1 raised for the club feeds one child breakfast.
“Both Cobs Bread and the club believe every child deserves a healthy breakfast,” said Tanya Hook, Cobs Bread marketing manager.
“With one in seven children going to school without breakfast, the club needs support to help turn the number of hungry, distracted children in the classroom to learning, happy students.”
Cobs Bread has 83 bakeries across Canada, including in Vernon.
