Nelson residents can get a look at what the first phase of the proposed Nelson Landing development will eventually look like.
Storm Mountain Development Corporation unveiled its vision this week, marking the occasion by installing onsite signage as the developer readies for a spring launch.
Nelson Landing is a master planned, phased, mixed-use residential and recreational community located on the shores of Kootenay Lake, within the city limits of Nelson.
With more than 6,500 feet of low bank lakefront, the Nelson Landing community will consist of residences and multi-use (commercial) buildings. More than 30 per cent of the land will be dedicated as park including Red Sands Beach. A new trail system is being developed to connect Nelson Landing with the city and Red Sands Beach.
“It’s official – the development of Nelson Landing is now happening.” said Allard Ockeloen, president and CEO of Storm Mountain Developments, “The new website went live this week and this community is ideal for those looking for waterfront living close to downtown.”
The first phase of homes will feature eight townhomes priced in the $400,000 range and averaging between 1,324 to1,389 square feet. Additional townhomes may be available if there is demand.
Each townhome features a south facing private deck, stone and metal cladding, bold wood soffits and a standing seam metal roof supported by steel braces. An independent garage affords space for both parking and storage.
Commencement of construction is subject to pre-selling six townhomes and is expected to start in June 2014, with completion in six to eight months. Interested parties can visit http://www.nelsonlanding.com to register for more information.
