Q: WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO SELL MY HOME QUICKLY?

Life circumstances, such as a job transfer, military posting or relationship breakdown can force homeowners into a situation where their home must be sold quickly.

With the help of a good real estate agent, there are some steps one can take to move a home fast, even at a time of the year not traditionally busy for home sales.

Pricing the property right at the beginning is a good way to start. In general, the activity seen on the house in the first 30 days is usually the most action you’ll see, with everyone being connected online to new listings.

Another good step to enhance the home’s appeal is to look at your home from the street and list things that might diminish a potential buyer’s first impression. Adding sod to garden beds, painting the front door, clearing items away from the entry way or replacing the mailbox are easy examples.

Inside, declutter by packing away as many personal items and excess furniture as possible, to allow viewers to envision what the home would look and feel like with their family in it, not yours.
