Heliskiing ready to soar

Vernon’s Kingfisher Heliskiing is set to open a world of first descents and pristine Monashee Mountain terrain

Vernon’s Kingfisher Heliskiing is set to open a world of first descents and pristine Monashee Mountain terrain as B.C.’s newest heli-skiing operation.

Guests of Kingfisher Heliskiing will get the opportunity to explore, ski or snowboard and name their own run, leaving a mark on the Kingfisher map forever.

“It’s like opening a candy store,” said owner and lead guide Tim Shenkariuk.

“There is so much amazing terrain in this tenure and most of it has never seen skied before.”

Featuring 120,000 acres of alpine and tree-skiing in the central Monashee range, the Kingfisher Heliskiing experience offers two packages. One is with the Gold Panner Lodge in Cherryville and the other is with Vernon’s Sparkling Hill Resort.

“We can’t wait to kick operations off in December,” said Shenkariuk.
