Gerard St. Jean, owner of St. Jean’s Cannery and Smokehouse, can also claim ownership of the world’s largest salmon can. The structure, a museum chronicling the company’s history, was opened Thursday when the St. Jean’s celebrated 50 years in business. Hundreds of people turned out for the event, which included tours of the museum, canning and processing areas, food samples, live music and trade demonstrations.
