Local real estate activity climbs in April

Overall, there were 161 units sold in April, a 15 per cent increase compared to 140 units during April 2013.

Real estate activity remains strong in the North Okanagan.

Overall, there were 161 units sold in April, a 15 per cent increase compared to 140 units during April 2013.

There were 152 residential sales, up 16.9 per cent from 130 units in April 2013 while single-family units climbed 22.2 per cent from 72 to 88 units.

“The Okanagan-Shuswap housing market moved out of a buyer’s market into a balanced market during April, following a steady growth in sales and declining inventory,” said Darcy Griffiths, Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board president.

“Board-wide, sales statistics for the first four months of 2014 indicate recovery is well underway with rising consumer demand and balanced conditions emerging as we move into the warmer spring months.”
