The CEO of an Abbotsford aerospace company will receive another honour later this month.

Barry Marsden, the president and CEO of Conair Aerial Firefighter, will be recognized by the BC Aviation Council (BCAC) with its Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented Oct. 20 at the BCAC’s Silver Wings Awards at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Marsden, who served as a mechanic, pilot and co-founder at the formation of Conair in 1969, has led the company since 1991. Under his leadership, Conair evolved from an aerial fire control operator providing specialty services to become a world leader in the development of aerial fire control aircraft and systems using a fleet of 50 aircraft.

Marsden has previously been honoured with both the Order of B.C. and the Order of Canada.
