Mid-Island builders nominated for excellence in home building

NANAIMO – Georgie Awards given out in Vancouver in March 2017.

A handful of mid-Island home-building companies are finalists for provincial construction awards.

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association of B.C. announced the finalists for the 2017 Georgie Awards, which highlights excellence in home building and renovation.

To be eligible for a Georgie Award, members of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of B.C. submitted entries from across the province that were built, renovated, developed, created and/or marketed from Jan. 1, 2015 to Sept. 30, 2016. The finalists and winners were selected by a panel of out-of-province industry professionals.

Nominees from the mid-Island area include:

Pheasant Hill Homes, for Efficient Living at the Ridge, nominated for custom home ($500,000-$899,999) and best certified home – custom;

Alair Homes Vancouver Island, with associate companies Mazzei Electric, Slegg Building Materials, Mayco Mix, for Creekside, nominated for custom home ($500,000-$899,999) and with associate companies Mazzei Electric, City Tile, Illumination Lighting Solutions Ltd., custom home builder of the year.

T.S. Williams Construction Ltd., with associate company KB Design, for Atrium Beach House, nominated for custom home ($1,300,000 – $1,899,000). T.S. Williams, with associate company KB Design, was also nominated for custom home ($1,900,000-$3,000,000) and best outdoor living space – new or renovation, for The Element.

The 25th anniversary gala will be held March 11at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.
