New services offered for seniors, residents

HomeStead Services provides options for homeowners

Longtime 108 Mile Ranch residents Jess and Lynda Mahoney have started HomeStead Services, a new home-based business helping local seniors and anyone else needing a little help around the house.

They are now assisting folks in 100 Mile House and the surrounding area with home and yard maintenance, automotive repairs and detailing, and other helpful services.

While they will provide assistance to anyone of any age, Jess says with government encouraging more seniors to stay in their own home longer, he and Lynda identified an increasing demand they could help address in their community.

“For the seniors, there is a lot of home care for health issues, but there is really [not much available] for them for all the other problems or things that they need in their home.”

With the wide variety of other services they provide, such as RV care and checking summer cottages and unoccupied homes, they encourage anyone with a particular need to call them and inquire about it, he explains.

The fully licensed automotive mechanic says that, for customers within a reasonable distance, he can also pick up and deliver vehicles needing servicing, and provide free estimates.

Small home repairs, house painting, garden care and gutter cleaning are just some of the other tasks they can take care of for local residents, he adds.

Jess notes HomeStead Services is fully insured and covered by Worksafe BC, an important protection for customers.
