Prospera Credit Union presented a cheque for $60,000 to the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation as part of the Miracle Weekend on May 31 and June 1.
“Making sure that we take care of everyone in the community, particularly those who are young and vulnerable, is a responsibility we all share and BC Children’s Hospital plays a unique role serving our entire province so I can see why our staff do what they do,” said Bruce Howell, the president and CEO of Prospera Credit Union.
“Still, every year I am awed and inspired by the time and effort they put in, above and beyond the many partnerships, community programs and sponsorships we engage in as an organization, to support their charity of choice in such a heartfelt way.”
The money was raised through a variety of fundraising activities over the course of the past year.
The events included a payday jeans day, jeans week, 50/50 draws, hockey pools and other raffles, gift card and popcorn sales, prize draws and the sale of paper Christmas trees and Valentine hearts at Prospera branches throughout B.C.
This is the tenth year they have supported B.C. Children’s Hospital.
