There’s a way of getting rid of your Christmas tree while also helping those in need.
For the second year, Doug Cuthbert, with Re/Max, will pick up unwanted Christmas trees and dispose of them for a donation to the Vernon food bank.
“With an encouraging response to the program last year, we are excited to grow the program even more this coming Christmas season,” he said.
Trees and donations of non-perishable food items will be collected Jan. 2 and 3.
To schedule a pick-up, call 250-541-2360 or email joy.magnell@outlook.com
“I’m hoping with heightened public awareness, we can raise a significant amount of food for local families,” said Cuthbert.
“It should be specified that we can only accept trees from Coldstream and Vernon, no outlying towns. We are disposing of the trees at the city lot on 20th Street and they only accept trees from this area.”
