There’s a new face at the Rise Golf Club.

Chad Scott has been named as the director of golf.

“I’m excited to contribute to the growth and expansion of this premiere club,” he said.

“There’s big investment in the future here. The team is committed to creating a top-notch destination and I can’t wait until it opens up in April. Up here feels like a getaway from the everyday. I want every member and visitor to feel that — to have an exceptional experience every time they come.”

Originally from the Okanagan, Scott began his golf career as a junior member at the Fernie Golf and Country Club. In 2001, he became a member of the PGA of Canada, and then took business administration and professional golf management at Victoria’s Camosun College.

After graduation, he accepted a position as assistant professional at the Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver.

In 2012, Scott was given the professional development award from the PGA of B.C. for his dedication to learning and career development.

Ian Renton, general manager, says Scott joins the Rise during a critical period of growth.

“We’re building the best experience on every front. From the signature Freddy Couples course, to the new golf carts, clubhouse, and food experiences, our members and guests are going to access the very best,” said Renton.

“We’re really excited to have Chad join the program. There’s a lot of excitement for 2016 at the Rise.”

The Rise, which sits 1,000 feet above Okanagan Lake, is currently constructing a new clubhouse.

Opening day for the course is April 8 and 150 memberships are being sold for 2016.
