Reporter Jeff Nagel snagged first place in the Best Environmental Writing category for his series Oil and Water about the potential effects of twinning of Kinder Morgan Canada’s Trans Mountain Pipeline.

The national recognition adds to last month’s nominations in the B.C.-Yukon Community Newspaper Association’s Ma Murray competition, which will be announced April 20.
