A pancake fundraiser co-hosted by a pair of South Surrey businesses raised $600 for prostrate cancer awareness.

The Prostate Cancer Awareness Pancake Breakfast took place Sept. 17 at Choices Markets Alder Crossing, where blueberry-flax pancakes, organic chicken-and-herb sausages and fair trade coffee were among items on the menu for $5. Guests could also “spin-n-win” prizes donated by Alder Crossing merchants.

Proceeds support Prostate Cancer Canada Network-Surrey, a local support and awareness group.

Co-hosted by Choices with Mountainview Wellness Centre, the event is held once a year on the second or third Saturday in September.
