Telus has announced it will spend $3.5 million in Mission this year to expand its 4G network.
The spending is part of $3 billion in infrastructure upgrades being made across the province between now and 2014, and builds upon the $26 billion the company has already invested over the last 10 years.
Telus’ $3.5 million investment includes:
• Extending its new 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network to Mission. 4G LTE is the fastest wireless technology available, supporting peak download speeds of up to 75 megabits per second (Mbps), with an expected average of 12 to 25 Mbps.
• Extending Optik TV to more Mission homes this year.
• Bringing advanced wireless and wireless broadband to rural communities.
