Telus is investing $800,000 in new communications infrastructure in Armstrong this year to meet the growing demand for high-speed Internet services.
Every wireless site in the community will be updated to 4G LTE, and there will be enhanced Optik TV service.
“This investment builds on the $2 million Telus invested in Armstrong last year as we meet and exceed the explosive demand for Internet and wireless services,” said Steve Jenkins, general manager for the Southern Interior.
“I want to extend my appreciation to our local team members who work day and night to give our customers access to the latest and greatest technology. These days it’s not uncommon for families to have more than 10 devices amongst them, and this investment will keep you connected whether you’re at home, at work or on the move.”
Work in Armstrong will also expand Telus Health, which currently provides electronic medical records to more than 14,000 Canadian physicians as well as health benefits management solutions to pharmacies, dental clinics and extended health care providers across the country.
