The Home Depot Canada is hiring more than 6,000 people across Canada – 850 people in B.C. – to help support its busy spring season. The company is seeking full-time, part-time and seasonal associates.
In the Lower Mainland, including at Surrey’s three Home Depot stores, nearly 400 positions need to be filled and those interested are encouraged to come to a job fair being held this Wednesday.
The job fair will focus on operations and sales job opportunities. Operations are responsible for inventory, freight and stocking. These positions ensure product will be available on shelf for when traffic increases for the spring season.
Sales positions in the seasonal department are responsible for processing sales at the cash register and customer loading assistance. These positions ensure that exceptional customer service is delivered.
The Home Depot offers extensive training and development opportunities. In fact, 75 per cent of Home Depot Canada store managers started as hourly associates.
“The Home Depot Canada is committed to meeting as many like-minded candidates as possible to grow our values-based team and deliver the best customer service,” said Aliana Rozenek, vice-president, human resources, communications and sustainability.
“Whether it’s in the seasonal department or at our PRO desk, many associates have joined our team during our annual spring hire.”
Eligible full- and part-time employees have access to The Home Depot’s benefits package, which includes company-paid health and dental benefits, profit-sharing programs, tuition reimbursement and employee assistance programs.
The Home Depot also encourages employees giving back to their local communities by volunteering their time.
The three Home Depot locations in Surrey will be holding a job fair on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 4-8 p.m.:
• Newton: 7350 120 St.
• North Surrey: 12701 110 Ave.
• South Surrey: 2525 160 St.
