A drive to warm the winter for the working poor and homeless collected enough clothing and blankets at White Rock/South Surrey drop-off sites to fill 219 bags.
The local donations to The Realtors Care Blanket Drive, held Nov. 14-21, will benefit Atira Women’s Resource Society, Sources Food Bank Resource Centre and Sources Women’s Place.
The drive has taken place annually across the Lower Mainland for 22 years. This year, more than 100 real estate offices served as drop-off points, with all donations remaining in the community in which they were collected.
Organizers say overall, the effort will benefit more than 30,000 people throughout the Lower Mainland.
