Customers seeking gate crasher sales, free food and a store full of fresh, new stock packed into the new location of Capital Iron on Saturday, as the family owned business officially opened its third store in Greater Victoria.
Owner Mike Black, flanked by family members, current and former staff, West Shore Chamber of Commerce reps and City of Langford Mayor Stew Young and Coun. Denise Blackwell, cut the ribbon in front of the bright new store at 975 Langford Pkwy. in the former Sandy’s Furniture building.
The store has been open for a week, but the festivities were saved until the shelves were fully stocked and ready to go, Black told the gathered crowd.
The opening marks a return to the West Shore for Capital Iron, which ran a store on Goldstream Avenue back in the 1990s. It operates stores downtown on Wharf Street and on Fifth Street in Sidney.
