A dozen glass art studios will gather at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre Sept. 28 for an annual show and sale.
Artists who work in stained glass, kiln cast, fused, lamp-worked, sand-carved and furnace-blown glass will have their creations on hand during the event.
Their array of work ranges from functional to decorative and architectural applications: window and door panels, lamps, jewelry, vessels, glass sculpture and more.
“This show began with glass artists looking for new ways to connect with the public,” said Christopher Smith, a professional art glass creator in Nanaimo for 35 years. “We set the show up as an arts festival with the artists at their displays.”
More than 500 visitors attended the spring show.
The one-day show runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Dodd Narrows Room. Admission is by donation to the Loaves and Fishes food bank.
