An Abbotsford resident's short story has been selected as among 20 to be featured in an anthology called Threads.

An Abbotsford resident is one of 20 people to receive awards in a North American writing competition.

Stefan Dyk’s short story, titled HX-59B, was among 4,000 entries submitted to the contest hosted by Neoglyphic Entertainment.

The NeoVerse writing competition was open to participants throughout Canada and the U.S. Entries were judged by peer readers, industry experts and machine-learning technology.

The winners’ works will be published in an anthology, titled Threads, featuring stories that range from sci-fi and horror to historical fiction.

Cash prizes ranging from $100 to $2,000 were awarded to the 20 winners.
