Armstrong park will be filled with music

Cheaper Than A Porsche brings their country rock, rock and roll and blues to Music in the Park on July 29

Armstrong’s Music in the Park celebrations continue Friday at Memorial Park.

Cheaper Than A Porsche will perform beginning at 7 p.m.

Formed in 2008 with four original members, Cheaper Than A Porsche has since transitioned to a six-piece band playing country rock, rock and roll and blues.

Cheaper than  a  Porsche has played at public venues such as Lumby Days, Civic Sounds, Divas in Pink, Vernon Winter Carnival, Suds ‘n’ Cider as well as private events.

This is their second appearance at Music in the Park, having played there in 2011.

With a high musical skill level — Steve Durant (vocalist, keyboards, trumpet, harmonica), Rick Balardo (lead guitar, vocals), Owen Cook (rhythm guitar, vocals, harmonica, shaker), Rick Doling (bass guitar), Gary Clark (saxophone, percussions) and Terry Johnson (drums, percussions)  promise to provide a  great night of entertainment — fun for the whole family.

Music in the Park is a free community event — part of the Celebrate! Countdown to Canada Day festivities — and is proudly sponsored by Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce with support of the City of Armstrong, Thompson Okanagan Tourism and local media.

The Department of Canadian Heritage has also provided funds for the Celebrate! Countdown to Canada Day portion of Music in the Park.
