Dress in your most chic cocktail party outfit and draw out your inner activist when the Vernon Public Art Gallery hosts its next Art After Dark soirée style party.
Designed to cultivate the creative community in Vernon, the Feb. 24 event is serving up art, food, local tastings, and tunes by live DJ Chris Spin, along with a hands-on art activity where patrons can make their own protest sign.
“Join us for this popular evening event… You’ll look at art in a new light as we bring out the inner activists in the crowd through the Art as Activism activity,” said VPAG executive director Dauna Kennedy Grant. “Of course we have the popular photo/video booth, live DJ and beverage tastings along with exhibition-inspired activities. You don’t want to miss this fun night out in downtown Vernon at your very own VPAG.”
Ticket holders can also partake in a mixed media art exploration, inspired by Nicole Young’s current exhibition at the VPAG. Tea tastings are being offered by Teassential, while The BX Press is serving up some of its finest cider. Okanagan Spirits is also selling some of its signature cocktails at the cash bar.
Tickets are $15 and are now available at the gallery (250-545-3173), located underneath the downtown Vernon parkade, at Teassential on 30th Avenue, or online at www.vernonpublicartgallery.com.
