Hanging Around, a photo by Brian Clemens of Nanaimo, won the July Black & White themed photo contest of the Ladysmith Camera Club.
The shot was taken on the Montreal waterfront, where Clemens spotted a young woman silhouetted against the evening sky as she was climbing on a giant pirate ship obstacle course.
He chose to render the image black and white to emphasize the silhouette.
Ladysmith based author and wildlife photographer Bruce Whittington will be the featured speaker at the next Camera Club meeting, Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. He will share his latest experiences as resident naturalist on a July Alaskan cruise.
Camera Club meetings take place in Hardwick Hall, High Street and Third Ave. in Ladysmith. Everyone is welcome: non-members pay a $5 drop in fee. The club welcomes new members from novice to pro.
