Arts take over First Avenue Aug. 27 & 28

More than 55 juried artists will set up in tents along First Avenue between Buller and Warren streets Sunday, Aug 28, for the Ladysmith Arts Council’s Arts on the Avenue show.

Emerging and accomplished artists will be in the mix, and they will be there to talk to you about their work and the artist’s lifestyle.

There will be music and art demos at this annual event, which is the place to go if you want to get to know about the Ladysmith and region arts scene.

And don’t forget Light Up the Night, which takes place Saturday evening, Aug. 27.

This years Arts on the Avenue guest artist is Dan Gray.  His pastels are impressions of the moment. Born in Vancouver, he has worked in soft pastel since 1975.

Always painting from live models, always ‘en plein air’ when painting landscape, Dan will be featured in the Centre Tent this year, “so be sure to visit Guest Artist tent and say hello,” says the AOA web site: artsontheavenue.ca.
