Friends of Armstrong’s Eric Nolting are hosting a benefit dance for the Air Canada pilot and his family at Sneakers Pub in the Village Green Hotel Saturday.
The 37-year-old father of two, who works as a pilot for Air Canada, has been diagnosed with stage four melanoma.
Since Nolting recently started his new job and is still in a probationary position, his financial security is uncertain.
“This is heartbreaking news for this young, loving family,” said family friend Jessica Nobrega. “Amidst the heartbreak, positive news has come out. There is a new, experimental drug that Eric is a candidate for.”
The benefit dance features live music by Okanagan artists The Bone, The New Classics, The Dan Engelland Band, The Goods, Odinfist and others. The event also features a silent auction, 50/50 draw, door prizes, and bucket draws, with all proceeds going to the Nolting family.
“We need Eric to focus on his recovery and family without worrying about financial strain,” said Nobrega.
