The awards continue to pile up for Gabriola’s children’s entertainers The Kerplunks.
The quartet earned a Western Canadian Music Award for Children’s Recording of the Year.
The awards were handed out last weekend in Whitehorse, honouring Western Canada’s highest achieving recording artists. The Kerplunks were honoured for their third album, aptly titled Number 3.
The group, currently working on their full-length musical DVD, was unable to attend the ceremony.
The 10-song DVD, which will be released early next year, features a song commissioned by the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C. about technology.
The Kerplunks earned three consecutive Juno Award nominations, along with a previous Western Canadian award win in 2008.
“We always strive to produce music that won’t drive parents nuts, while maintaining the goofy factor essential for good kids’ music,” said Dinah D.
