Brilliant pieces from a classical music mastermind and the melodic hits from a world famous pop group will be brought together in Beethoven and the Beatles on the morning of Oct. 7 at the Cultural Centre.

The renowned piano-playing pair The Bergmann Duo joins the extraordinarily talented violinist Mark Ferris for a performance that will be unlike any other. These three artists will dazzle you with the unique mix of timeless hits of both Ludwig van Beethoven and The Beatles.

Marcel and Elizabeth Bergmann (aka the Bergmann Duo) have performed their piano concerts internationally throughout North America and Europe, have made several recordings for CBC Radio and are the founding members of International Piano Quartet.

The married couple met at Hochschule für Musik und Theater, a music university in Hannover, Germany.  They studied separately but grew into partners, establishing a new program of study for duo piano at their school. Elizabeth and Marcel have an extraordinary list of triumphs, including first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta, Italy and were honoured at the fourth Murray Dranoff International Two Piano Competition.

Phenomenal Mark Ferris is a graduate student of Yale University, a founding member of the Yaletown String Quartet, and a concertmaster and mentor for the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra. He has toured with the Winnipeg and National Ballets, performed for Fiddler on the Roof, Phantom of the Opera, and even worked with Diana Krall.

With so much talent fused into one incredible show, the audience is sure to be captivated and wowed. The morning concert comes complete with complimentary drinks and refreshments.

Beethoven and the Beatles, in the Rotary Hall Studio on Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m., will be the first of four magnificent morning concerts hosted by The Bergmann Duo as part of the Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society’s 2016/2017 Classical Music Series.
