CRD seeks final public input on its regional arts plan

Arts Champions Summit happens this Thursday in Victoria

West Shore artists and those interested in development of arts opportunities in the Capital Region are invited to the upcoming Arts Champions Summit on Thursday (Nov. 3) in Victoria.

Hosted by the Capital Regional District Arts Development Service, the event offers the public a final chance to review the draft Implementation Priorities and Action Plan.

The formulation of this regional document resulted from an extensive public consultation process, known as Building Our #ArtsFuture Together, that drew input from more than 1,100 Greater Victoria residents.

A series of reports sum up the community discussions and the research done over the past number of months on the arts community in the region.

Those reports can be accessed by the public online at placespeak.com/CRDArts Future.

Two sessions are available for the Summit, 1:30 to 3:45 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m. at The Baumann Centre of Pacific Opera Victoria, 925 Balmoral Rd.

For more information on the Arts Service and further details on the grants it awarded to community arts organizations in 2016, visit crd.bc.ca/service/arts-funding.
