The world’s top super villains will battle it out on an inflatable screen this Saturday in Holland Park. The animated film, Despicable Me, is the third movie of this year’s Movies Under The Stars line-up.
Bring the whole family to watch as Gru tries to bolster his reputation as the greatest super villain of all time. In a fit of jealous rage after a mysterious thief swipes the pyramids in Egypt, Gru vows to steal the world’s most prized possession: The moon.
Will Gru manage to reclaim his title as the world’s number-one super villain? Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to Holland Park on Saturday, Aug. 18 to watch as the story unfolds.
The movie begins when the park gets dark, but make sure to arrive early, as there will be pre-movie entertainment including “Mad Science,” interactive activities, crafts, and free face painting beginning at 5 p.m.
If you don’t feel like packing a picnic, a variety of food vendors will also be on site, including a barbecue hosted by the North Surrey Lions Club.
Children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters from the movie, whether it be Vector, one of the orphans, the evil Dr. Nefario, or evil genius Gru himself. There may even be prizes awarded to the most despicably dressed children. There will also be a trivia contest for the kids before the movie commences.
And what would a movie be without popcorn? Presenting sponsor, Prospera Credit Union, will be handing out free popcorn to viewers before the movie begins.
The Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association encourages everyone to come to Holland Park on Saturday as the sun goes down to take part in watching this fun family-friendly movie in a unique outdoor environment.
