Festival season isn’t over yet on Vancouver Island and music lovers of all ages have the chance to be part of an exciting “next generation” music festival taking place at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds on Sept. 8-9.
Rhythm on the Rock is a two-day grass roots music event featuring a huge variety of emerging artists from a wide range of genres including rock, reggae, indie folk, pop, electronica and funk-soul hop.
Produced by Lightburn Productions and a team of talented community volunteers, Rhythm on the Rock offers music fans a taste of some of the hottest new music being produced on Vancouver Island, The Sunshine Coast and Lower Mainland.
The focus is original, exciting sounds from talented up and coming musicians who are shaping the incredible music scene on the West Coast right now.
Performers include Peak Performance Project winners Current Swell, Mindil Beach Markets, Maurice, Emily Spiller, Kytami (of Deli to Dublin fame), Island faves Bananafish Dance Orchestra, Annie Becker, Cruel Young Heart, Wilderness Crew, Shane Philip, Vancouver’s Ari Neufeld and many many more.
A visit to the festival website offers the stories, backgrounds, passions, trials, past performances and all sorts of adventures from all the ROTR 2012 performers and is well worth a visit.
Advance tickets are available online at www.rhythmonttherock.ca
Kids under 10 are free and special prices are available for “tweens” when accompanied by adults. Rhythm on the Rock is an alcohol-free event.
