Feet First jump to play Mackie Lake House

Vernon band Feet First plays the final show in this season’s Music at Mackie concert series, Sept. 11.

Vernon band Feet First plays the final show in this season’s Music at Mackie concert series, Sept. 11.

Known by their motto “classic rock played right,”  Feet First started as a cover band seven years ago, and continue to put their own spin on classic tunes.

Influences include The Doobie Brothers, Yes, Rush, Ry Cooder, Steely Dan and, of course, power house bands such as The Rolling Stones and The Who.

With backgrounds in folk and alternative rock, original members Dave Thackray (lead vocals) and Clint Batchelor (drums) have been joined by other members over the ensuing years.

The band’s most recent addition is U.K. born musician Dave Moore, whose “English influence” can be heard in his guitar playing. Mason Guetter, who  originally joined the band as the bass player, has since moved on to guitar and keyboards, while Robbie MacAlpine holds up the rhythm section on bass.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair/blanket and picnic supper or just come to listen to music on the Mackie Lake House grounds. Beer and wine are available at a cash bar. Tickets are $20, available at www.ticketseller.ca or 250-549-7469.
