There’s good news for those youth under the age of 19 who wish to attend the Funtastic Music Festival’s Canada Day concert featuring Theory of a Deadman and Big Wreck.
After receiving several requests from parents who have 14-to-16-year-old children who want to see the well known Canadian rock bands, Funtastic organizers have come up with a solution to open a family zone for the Canada Day show only. (Festival dates from June 28 to 30 are for separate pass holders and are for 19-plus only.)
“As you know inside the fences is licensed, so we will be setting aside an area to the left of the stage beside the VIP tent for families to take in the Canada Day concert,” said Funtastic executive director Jim McEwan. “It’s a great viewing area for both the concert and the fireworks, which will take place in between the sets by Big Wreck and Theory.”
Lawn chairs and snacks/drinks are allowed, however, alcohol is strictly forbidden.
“We will be limiting the number in this area and security will ensure only pass holders have access to this area,” said McEwan.
Parents must register with the Funtastic office and confirm how many will be attending.
“You can go online to buy the tickets and we will mark those as family zone passes,” said McEwan.
