There are some new works on display at the Armstrong-Spallumcheen Art Gallery.
Gerry Marchand and Tatianna O’Donnell will be the focus of exhibits until Oct. 26.
In the main gallery, is Marchand’s show Light Reflections.
“We are very fortunate to have Gerry as a member of our gallery where he has a tremendous help with our annual ribbon show,” states a release.
A Saskatchewan-native, Marchand is a painter who retired to Vernon in 1995.
He spent 25 years as an art teacher in North Bay, Ont. and he started a program designed to identify art talent in children ranging in age from five to 19 years old.
Although Marchand paints on a full-time basis, he continues to give lessons to interested students and presents workshops at the Vernon Community Arts Council and local art galleries.
In the Freeze Gallery, the ASAG is featuring Tatianna O’Donnell with her show Script.
O’Donnell is an artist who currently lives in Salmon Arm.
She first studied art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and has been an artist–in-residence at the Banff Centre, the Artic Institute in the Yukon, the Leighton Centre, the Columbia Icefields and Gushul Studios at the University of Lethbridge.
She has also been invited to exhibit her work in the Biennale in Florence, Italy.
“We are very fortunate to now have her work join us in Armstrong,” states the release.
