Prepare ye for Godspell, the beloved musical from Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer of Wicked.
Godspell comes to the Vernon Performing Arts Centre Feb. 11 as part of a national tour that is receiving glowing reviews and delighting audiences throughout North America.
“Enjoy all of the good gifts of one of the most enduring shows of all time – a family friendly, feel-good, and entirely entertaining musical rendition of the Gospel of Matthew,” said Brian Van Wensem, with audience development at the Performing Arts Centre.
“In this production by New York’s Moonglow Entertainment in association with Toronto’s Drayton Entertainment, a vibrant cast delivers this popular modernized retelling of the later life of Jesus.”
This timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love includes an ensemble of 11 actors and five musicians.

Originally conceived and directed by John-Michael Tebelak, this production is directed by David Hogan and will feature Jake Stern in the role of Jesus and Graham Parkhurst as John the Baptist/Judas.
The cast also features Stacey Bulmer, Michael Hogeveen, Ivan Lo, Alessia Lupiano, Rebecca McCauley, Lisa Michelle, Janelle Murray, Michael De Rose, and David Cotton.
Drayton Entertainment is one of Canada’s most successful professional theatre companies.
