It’ll be St. Paddy’s Day all over again when two local musicians celebrate “Erin Go Bragh” (Ireland forever) and have some good “craic” (good times).
Sally “O’Malley” Evans and Molly “Malone” Boyd are hoping to steal your heart away with the lilting tunes of Ireland when they bring Songs of the Emerald Isle to the Schubert Centre Thursday.
Well known throughout the Okanagan for their musical tribute to the songs of the Second World War, Evans and Boyd put their heads together to come up with a theme featuring beautiful songs to “warm the cockles of your hearts and songs so full of the blarney they will have your Irish eyes smiling,” said Evans.
“Being Irish is a state of mind and that there is a little Irish in the best of us and not enough Irish in the worst of us,” she added.
Both women invite their audience to wear green and be Irish for the day.
And if you happen to have a shillelagh (wooden walking stick) the gals could borrow for the show, call Evans at 250-542-0739.
Tickets for Thursday’s Songs from the Emerald Isle are $8 in advance at the Schubert Centre and at the door if still available. Doors open at 1 p.m. and showtime is 2 to 4 p.m.
