It’s that time of year again to don your green and get jiggy with Okanagan-Maritime band Cod Gone Wild.

This week, the band is hosting three theatre-style, family performances as part of its St. Patrick’s Day celebration tour.

The mini tour kicks off Thursday in Lumby at the Charles Bloom Secondary School theatre before making a stop in Lake Country Friday at the Creekside Theatre.

The Cods will then round out the tour with its annual St. Patrick’s Day performance, Saturday at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre.

All three shows will feature the Okanagan Celtic Choir, which is directed by Cod Gone Wild’s lead singer and guitarist Andrew Mercer, while the Vernon performance will also feature the Coldstream School Choir and, for the first time, the Arran Campbell Memorial Youth Pipe Band.

“Fans can expect to hear an assortment of brand, new music and musical diversity at these shows in addition to the classic favourites that go hand in hand with St. Patrick’s Day,” said Mercer, adding the Vernon show is also a fundraiser.

Over the past two years, Cod Gone Wild has donated $3,500 to the Have a Heart Radiothon in support of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.

“With the support of community groups and performers this year we hope to add to that amount again this year in a big way,” said Mercer.

Cod Gone Wild takes the stage in Lumby Thursday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Lumby Health Foods & Caffe Mazzega.

The Lake Country performance starts Friday at 7:30 p.m. Call 250-766-5669 for reservations.
