Chilliwack audiences listening to the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and Chorus (KSOC) will be getting more than an evening of entertainment — they will also be supporting people displaced by the current conflict in Ukraine.
The ensemble of 35 singers and seven instrumentalists, which has performed at Carnegie Hall, will be making a stop in Chilliwack on Friday, Oct. 14 at the Alliance Church at 7 p.m.
This will be their third appearance in Chilliwack and they’ll be performing Slavic a cappella, hymns, sung and spoken prayers, Ukrainian folk music, instrumental chamber music and more.
There is no admission charge, though a free-will offering will be taken to support the ministries of Music Mission Ukraine Canada, an organization that serves hundreds of internally displaced orphans and widows.
