Magpie Ulysses delivered what she called her “mayoral platform” to Nelson city council on Monday night. The spoken word-artist was the latest performer to appear at a committee of the whole meeting at the invitation of the city’s Cultural Development Committee. The theme of her poem/campaign speech was “When housing becomes affordable.” She’s not actually running for mayor but does appear Friday at the Old Church Hall on Victoria Street with Pauline and James Lamb as part of the Kootenay Storytelling Festival.
