Interior Savings and its community partners are inviting the public to grab a picnic blanket and head down to their local park to watch a moonlight screening of a family-friendly movie this month.
Eight movie nights will take place throughout the Thompson-Okanagan, including a screening of Madagascar 3 at Vernon’s Polson Park Aug. 18 to benefit the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.
The movies will be shown on a giant inflatable cinema screen at sundown. Everyone is encouraged to arrive early to get a good viewing spot and take part in some of the many family-friendly pre-show activities.
“The Interior Savings Moonlight Movie Night events have been going for six years now, and are always a lot of fun,” said Kathy Conway, Interior Savings’ CEO. “To date, these events have raised more than $70,000 in support of important youth programs in our communities. Please join us for a wonderful night of family entertainment in your community.”
While there is no charge to attend the event, a donation of $3 per person or $10 for a family of four is suggested. All funds raised will benefit a local non-profit organization in each community.
Pre-show activities will start at 7 p.m. with the movie scheduled to start at sundown. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs. Warm clothing is also recommended.
