They played their way across Canada to record their new album and now they play across the Island to celebrate its release.
The Sweet Lowdown, an old-time bluegrass and acoustic trio, performs at Nanaimo Centre Stage Saturday (June 4).
Their fresh sound ranges from sweet and lilting to edgy and driving. The album features the group’s one-of-a-kind sound and highlights their unique voices.
Band members Amanda Blied, on guitar, Shanti Bremer on banjo, and Miriam Sonstenes on fiddle, each contributed to the album’s original songs, which are layered with rich vocal harmonies and instrumentals over old-time grooves and driving bluegrass rhythms.
Doors to the concert open at 7 p.m., with the show beginning 30 minutes later.
Tickets $10. Please call 250-754-2264.
