As part of a fun holiday season, the Museum at Campbell River is offering two family fun-filled puppet shows on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 1 and 3 p.m.
This hour long show features the professional work of Lawrence Smythe from Montreal. Entitled Pinnocchio and Gepetto’s Rigolo Show, the hour will be filled with Smythe’s work as a mime, clown, actor, singer, dancer, puppeteer and ventriloquist.
From New York to Tokyo, Paris to Berlin, Smythe’s comedy creations have entertained audiences across the globe, in comedy clubs, theaters and cruise ships, circus and cabaret, to film and television. As a solo performer, Smythe has performed for Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Eloize, Just for Laughs and at such prestigious venues as Caesars Palace, Place des Arts, Theatre St. Denis, National Arts Center and John F Kennedy for the Performance Arts. In Smythe’s own words he was “born in the golden age of comedy, shot out of a circus canon landing in the 21st century like laughter in a cathedral.”
The show is suitable for all ages and is sure to bring laughter to the holidays. The cost for the show is $9 for adults and $7 for kids. There is also a special family rate of 4 for $25. Call the Museum at Campbell River at 287-3103 to book a seat.
