Revelstoke’s Zachary Rogers performed in the finals of the Helsinki International Ballet Competition today.
Rogers performed classical and contemporary dances with fellow Canadian Yoshiko Kamikusa.
The results will be announced Thursday, wrote his father Bob Rogers on Facebook. “I know they were thrilled with their performances and will be happy regardless,” he said.
The competition featured 36 junior and 29 senior dancers from around the world; Rogers competed as a senior.
He grew up in Revelstoke before moving away to study at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, then in Europe.
He currently dances with the Estonian National Ballet.
