The Roadside Harvest Social opens in Abbotsford this week and includes B.C.’s first corn maze with beer tasting.

The event opens Friday, Sept. 30 and continues every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Oct. 23. It is located on a 10-acre field at 36737 North Parallel Rd. – the same location whether the hugely successful Abbotsford Tulip Festival occurred in the spring.

The Roadside Harvest Social includes three different corn mazes – one for kids, one for all ages and one that includes beer tasting – as well as a pumpkin patch, KidZone games and play area, a dog bar, photo booths, a lounge area and a craft beer garden.

The three-kilometre beer-tasting maze includes four tasting stations with a total of four three-ounce samples of craft beer.

A kickoff event takes place Thursday with a celebrity dog walk and “Instameet-and greet” with Pepper the Adventure Dog.

Dog owners are invited to explore the festival with their pets and are encouraged to snap and post photos of their experience while tagging #pupsofroadside.

Admission is $5 for ages three to 18 and $10 for ages 19 and older. Kids under two are free.
